Luz Maria Charlita

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Luz Maria Charlita, currently resides between Miami, FL, and Madrid, Spain, at the same time as she continues her successful career as a sculptor. Luz Maria is acknowledged as the ‘Surrealist Master of Nature’, which she depicts in her metal artworks.

Luz Maria Charlita has consolidated her own artistic style in her artworks that in the beginning can be seen as a goldsmith work, inspired by a meticulous love for nature, simplicity and the origin of life that is projected to infinity. With her artistry, Luz Maria has been able to change the feeling of a space through her artworks. They have been internationally shown at museums, galleries and art fairs, as well as, they are part of prestigious collections worldwide.

Charlita was trained academically as an architect. After many years of experience in the practice of her profession, she always believed in ‘beauty and in simplicity’, ‘sobriety in the expression’ and ‘harmony in the whole,’ values that are evident in her creations. Her early metalsmithing, her graphics, sculptures and installations are imbued with: beauty, simplicity and harmony, the sum of elements that are not always achieved in modern art.

Luz Maria Charlita offers a mature vision of modern art that leads us down paths, where light, shape, color and movement, away from us, alter our mood inducing to introspection, because of the obvious connection with universal symbols and nature.
