Leonardo Rodríguez

Leonardo is a Venezuelan artist-illustrator residing in Europe since 2000 (Paris and Barcelona) graduated from the Institute of Design of Caracas in 1992 with the title of illustrator. He has been a contributor to MAD Magazine from 2004 to 2019, as well as for El Universal, El Nacional, Simon&Schuster, Barcanova, La Cruilla and RBA, Esquire and Zinkia Entertainment.

In 2001 he received the Pedro León Zapata National Award. In France he won the Juan Rulfo award for best cartoonist organized by Radio France International (Paris, 2002), he was a finalist for the Curuxa Gráfica awards at the Museo do Humor de Fene, La Coruña (2003)

In 2019 he received the 'coup de coeur' mention from the Limousin Press Club in France, and in 2020 the "Covid 19" Award as the creator of virtual meetings between artists in times of pandemic at the Salon de Saint-Just-le -Martel, France (2020).

In France he is regularly invited to participate in events on caricature, humor and press drawing at "Saint-Just-le-Martel", "Saint Jean de Sixt", "Bozouls" and "Marciac". As a founding member of The Association Española de Caricaturistas has participated in the Barcelona Comic Fair since 2013. In 2021 it has been one of the 5 judges of the World Press Cartoon in Portugal. 

In France he has participated in exhibitions such as: "Au bout du crayon: Exilés, Migrants, Réfugiés 2022, “Bell Brochette, Los Presidents of the French Republic, seen by Steve Bell” (St-Just-le-Martel, 2020). In Spain he participates in: "Seen on TV" (2018) and "Caricatoras" (2021) exhibitions organized by the Quevedo Institute of Humorous Arts in Alcalá de Henares. In NY he participates in "Kerpoof" Illustrator's and Animators exhibition" at St. John's University, Queens Campus, New York (2011).

He also participates in "The Original Art 2011" at the Museum of American Illustration of the Society of Illustrators (2011) with the cover of the full color illustrated book 'Homefield Advantage', published by Simon & Schuster.
